MediRecords partner with The BlackDog Institute to provide cloud-based practice management software

The team at MediRecords are delighted to announce we are now working with the world-renowned BlackDog Institute.

BlackDog, global leaders in suicide prevention research, also provide mental health advocacy, education, and treatment across Australia. They have led awareness for the increased rates of mental illness as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and MediRecords will be further supporting their work to be more secure and accessible for patients through digital innovation.

How will MediRecords help BlackDog?

Put simply, by greatly improving the way they share information and data.

The ability to exchange information between healthcare providers securely is essential in mental health treatment – there are often multiple care providers across primary, allied, hospital and community care and the patient’s treatment can extend over a lifetime.

Improved access breaks down barriers to care. MediRecords allows patients and clinicians to connect virtually, provides clinicians with inbuilt Telehealth, and is a full practice management system for appointments, billing, online claiming, staff rostering, client management and secure messaging.

The bottom line is BlackDog can now manage all aspects of patient care through an online, secure practice management system. Our MediRecords solution will allow BlackDog to provide improved, accessible and timely care for patients. This will create detailed, secure and useful data that improves patient outcomes and informs better service planning for the future.

What does this mean for MediRecords?

This partnership represents another notable success for the team here at MediRecords, following our recently announced partnership with Healthdirect and our successful rollout across Queensland Health.

Our Founder and CEO Matthew Galetto commented “We are very excited about partnering with the Black Dog Institute, who do such important work in suicide prevention and improving outcomes for people with Mental Health issues. We are really looking forward to supporting them in achieving their strategic goal of becoming a leader in e-health through innovative models of care.”

About The BlackDog Institute

Since their foundation in 1985, The BlackDog Institute have been at the forefront of mental health research. Rapidly evolving to drive the creation of new knowledge and ensure that clinical best practice continues to be improved and refined in line with the latest evidence.

Today, their focus has expanded to address new challenges and opportunities in mental health – suicide prevention, digital innovation, lived experience, youth and workplace mental health. We are delighted to announce that MediRecords is now a VMware Standard Technology Alliance Partner and validated to run on VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Grid Integrated Edition (TKGI).This is a fantastic achievement for our team, but many of our customers will be wondering “what does this actually mean for us?”

Put simply, it means our software can run anywhere. Clients can implement MediRecords on-premises, in the cloud (via Google, Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Solutions), or as a hybrid-cloud solution. And of course, we will still provide clinical practice management software to thousands of clinics in Australia through our cloud-based offering.

VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Grid Integrated Edition enables clients to deploy and run their clinical practice management software as a containerized workload across private and public clouds. MediRecords has invested heavily in the development of operational capability, infrastructure as a code, automation and testing to support businesses when implementing their practice management solution as a containerized workload.

Our partnership with VMware will specifically benefit our enterprise and government customers with existing IT infrastructure investments that they want to deploy their MediRecords solutions on. MediRecords Completes Queensland Health Implementation In Record Time

MediRecords Completes Queensland Health Implementation In Record Time

In April 2018, Queensland Health selected MediRecords (www.medirecords.com) as its core practice management enterprise solution (PMES) to be used by Hospital and Health Services (HHSs) across Queensland. MediRecords replaced practiX in the private practice operations of Queensland Health, a system that had been in use for over 25 years.

MediRecords is now fully operational in all 13 participating HHSs with the largest of these, Metro South and Metro North going live in April 2019. MediRecords is the first clinical and administrative cloud-based software as a service (SaaS) application serving thousands of subscribers operating within Queensland Health. Implemented on a dedicated platform, MediRecords has successfully been deployed within a 10-month time frame.
On the company’s success, CEO and Founder of MediRecords Matthew Galetto said: “I am delighted with the success of this project which has exceeded our expectations in terms of the scale, speed of implementation and most importantly the acceptance of change by the HHSs end-users. It has been a pleasure to see how constructively and collaboratively the Queensland Health project team and the MediRecords team have worked together. We look forward to a long and strong working relationship.”
In addition to supporting smaller clinics, MediRecords supports larger enterprises managing high volume transactions across hundreds of clinics for thousands of subscribers all from within a single instance of the software. MediRecords supports multiple claiming services covering standard outpatient submissions for GP’s and Specialists alongside a full Eclipse claiming integration. This allows the application to support complex billing for Diagnostic Imaging, Radiation Oncology, Anaesthetic services and all Therapeutic Surgical Procedures. The MediRecords claiming dashboard simplifies submissions, automates receipting and reconciliation, reduces rejections and is supplemented by a detailed financial reporting platform.
The implementation of the MediRecords market leading clinical module used by GP’s and Specialists nationally, and currently in use in several private practice HHS clinics, will be expanded to other HHSs during 2019. MediRecords replaces paper-based record keeping systems with a full longitudinal patient electronic record including consultation note taking and prescribing.
Harnessing the strong synergies with Queensland Health to transform healthcare through digital innovations and technologies, MediRecords will again be sponsoring the eHealth EXPO on 6 June in Brisbane as exclusive partner for the Healthcare of the Future breakout session.

        About MediRecords

MediRecords offers the next generation of clinical and practice management software that is transforming the delivery of healthcare servicing in Australia. Connecting health professionals and patients with a suite of integrated products, MediRecords improves patient care while reducing associated costs of outdated technology. Developed from the ground up to harness the power of the cloud, MediRecords is available as an SaaS solution for SMB’s or as a dedicated platform service for larger corporates and institutions.
MediRecords has built an enterprise-calibre platform based on Australian eHealth standards delivering healthcare securely in the cloud. Corporates, government and other institutions can configure and customise the MediRecords Platform to support their PMS and EMR requirements without the overheads of building and maintaining costly application infrastructure. It’s an efficient way for business leaders to build a customised software solution to suit their growing organisation.

In April 2018 MediRecords partnered with Queensland Health to provide a Practice Management Enterprise Solution (PMES) to 15 Hospital and Health Services (HHSs) across Queensland.
MediRecords, a cloud-based SaaS clinical and practice management solution, will be rolled out in rural, regional and metropolitan areas offering private practice services operating under Granted Private Practice (GPP) arrangements.
MediRecords will be used by over 2,500 administrators and practice managers to provide billing and claiming services across all Medical Benefits Scheme (MBS) item codes excluding pathology for over 5,000 medical officers. Several HHSs will also fully utilise the MediRecords Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Scheduling modules developed to the latest eHealth standards. On the company’s success, CEO and Founder of MediRecords Matthew Galetto said: “We are incredibly proud and humbled to be chosen by Queensland Health to deliver on its SaaS and Cloud Computing Strategy by advancing healthcare for consumers, clinicians and the Queensland community. The decision to move to the cloud across the HHS network is a milestone occasion not just for MediRecords but for the Australian medical software industry as innovators enter the market and replace legacy software products that no longer meet the demands of modern-day healthcare delivery. Our business is 100% committed to executing on this opportunity. With offices currently in Sydney and Brisbane, we are looking for rapid expansion to the other major cities”. MediRecords will be establishing a dedicated SaaS cloud environment whilst configuring the system to meet Queensland Health functional specifications and integration requirements. MediRecords will be piloted in one HHS by mid-year prior to a roll out across the entire state to the remaining HHSs over a 6-month period. MediRecords will be migrating data from the legacy PMS PractiX, as well as providing product training and delivering support to all 15 HHSs.
